Salvos Counselling Program & Service Closure
After 34 years of providing a valuable service to Salvation Army officers, employees, their families, and to the broader community, Salvos Counselling will be permanently closing its operations from 31 August 2017.
Salvos Counselling is now unable to accept new counselling or Employee Assistance Program (EAP) clients. In the time remaining, all staff efforts will be committed to communicating with existing clients and, where possible, facilitating referrals to alternate services.
Salvos Counselling is not a crisis service. Therefore, if a situation is urgent, do not leave the person alone unless you are concerned for your own safety.
Call the person’s doctor, a mental health crisis service, or dial 000 and say that the person’s life is at risk. If the person agrees, you could go together to the local hospital emergency department for assessment.
